North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has made a surprise trip to China. It is his first trip outside his country in a year.
During the visit, Kim highlighted the strong bond between North Korea and China. These two countries have a long history of working together, often called "blood ties."
One of the main events of the trip was the opening of a new bridge connecting the two nations. This bridge is expected to make travel and trade easier between them.
Kim also spent time in the border city of Dandong. While there, he visited a bus factory. Experts say this visit was a way for Kim to see how China manages its economy. He mentioned that he felt "inspired" by the success he saw in the city.
While Kim was meeting with Chinese leaders, many other countries were watching closely. Experts think this meeting shows that North Korea is trying to keep its friendship with China strong, even as the world pays close attention to North Korea’s relationships with other countries, like Russia.
