Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a new decree. This law allows the Russian government to take control of private businesses and infrastructure that are not protected well enough from drone attacks.
Since the war in Ukraine started, Russia has seen more drone attacks on its own soil. Many of these drones hit oil refineries, factories, and power plants. These are places that keep the country running.
Now, the Kremlin is saying these sites are not doing enough to stay safe.
Under this new rule, if the government decides a building or a company is too easy for drones to hit, they can step in. They can effectively take charge of that property. This is a big move because it gives the state power over private property that is struggling to defend itself.
Officials say this is about national security. They want to make sure that important parts of the country’s power and fuel systems don't get destroyed by drones.
Critics worry that this is just another way for the Russian government to take control of private businesses. For the companies involved, it means they might lose their independence if they cannot prove they can stop an incoming drone.
