The United States has officially approved a sale of Patriot missiles to Ukraine. The deal is worth $2.1 billion.
Patriot missiles are special weapons used to shoot down incoming rockets or planes in the air. Ukraine has been asking for more of these to protect its cities and people from attacks.
There was some talk that the U.S. was waiting too long to send this help. A Finnish official even accused the U.S. of "playing politics" by holding back the missiles.
Now, the deal is moving forward. President Zelenskyy has been pushing hard for more support like this from the U.S. and other allies.
This sale is a big deal because these systems are very good at stopping dangerous threats. The U.S. says this support is necessary for Ukraine to keep defending itself.
