A woman is lucky to be alive today. She spent nearly 24 hours floating in the ocean after falling off a Royal Caribbean cruise ship.
The accident happened in the Ionian Sea. That is the area of water between Greece and Italy. For reasons still being looked into, the woman went overboard.
She was left alone in the dark water for almost a full day. Experts are calling her rescue a "maritime miracle." People who survive that long in the open sea are very rare.
Search teams worked quickly to find her once they realized she was missing. Thankfully, they spotted her floating in the water and were able to bring her to safety.
She is now being treated for her time at sea. Her exact condition has not been shared yet, but the fact that she was found alive is great news for her family and the cruise crew.
