There is a lot of confusion right now regarding a possible Ebola outbreak in Kenya.
Earlier today, news agencies like Reuters and the BBC reported that Kenya had found its first-ever case of Ebola. They said a man who recently traveled from the Congo had died from the disease. Health officials were racing to find 57 people who might have had contact with him. Ten of those people were placed into quarantine, which means they are being kept away from others to make sure they don’t get sick and spread it.
However, Al Jazeera is now reporting that the patient tested negative for the Ebola virus. This means the doctors’ initial fears may have been wrong.
Because of the situation, the U.S. Embassy in Uganda issued a health alert on October 7, 2026, warning people to be careful.
Right now, it is unclear if the patient truly had the virus or if this was a false alarm. Health officials are still working to track down everyone the patient met while he was sick to make sure everyone stays safe. We will keep you updated as we learn more facts.
