A powerful storm has caused major problems across Syria. Tragically, at least five people have died due to flash floods.

In Deir Ezzor, the bad weather has damaged the area's already weak systems. This means things like water and electricity are not working properly for many people.

Life is especially hard for those living in camps for displaced people. These are people who had to leave their original homes to stay safe. Now, their temporary homes are being destroyed by the rising water.

Families in the Washokani displacement camp are asking for help. They are currently dealing with freezing cold temperatures and mud-filled tents. Similar issues are happening in Al-Hasakah, where flooding has taken over several other camps.

The situation remains dangerous as the flooding has left many without basic shelter or warmth. Aid groups and locals are working to assess the damage, but the recovery process will be difficult given the state of the infrastructure.
