EU tells countries to use less energy as prices soar
Leaders are worried about high costs and low fuel supplies, so they are asking everyone to save energy now.

The European Union (EU) has a big problem. Energy prices are climbing very fast, and it is becoming hard for many people and businesses to afford the heat and electricity they need.
Because of this, the European Commission has sent a letter to member countries. The message is simple: we need to use less energy right now.
The EU is worried that if people don't cut back, there won't be enough gas and power to go around. Officials are asking governments to think of ways to lower demand. This could mean changing how much fuel we use in our daily lives.
Countries are already trying different things to help. Some are using government money to lower costs for families. Others are trying to change taxes or pausing certain policies to make things cheaper.
Essentially, the goal is to keep the lights on and the houses warm without the price getting even higher. The EU is trying to get ahead of a possible energy crisis before the situation gets even tougher. For now, the focus is on being careful with how much energy is being used across the continent.
