Things are getting tense between Europe and China. The European Union (EU) is looking for ways to stop relying so much on China for goods. They are talking about changing how their "single market" works. This is the system that lets countries in Europe trade easily with each other.

Some reports say the EU is even looking at a "kill-switch." This would be a way to quickly stop certain trade deals if they feel things aren't fair. The goal is to make sure Europe isn't too dependent on China for things like energy and important supplies.

The EU is expected to talk about these plans during meetings in December. They want to spread their business out to more countries so they don't have to count on just one place.

China is not happy about this. They have threatened to fight back if the EU moves forward. They have also asked the U.S. and the EU to rethink the extra taxes, or tariffs, they have placed on Chinese goods.

Some critics think the EU's plan is a mistake. They argue that setting limits on how much China can sell in Europe might actually end up hurting Europe more than it hurts China.

For now, both sides are stuck in a standoff. Everyone is watching to see what happens when the EU leaders meet next month.
