Oil prices are going up today. This happened because Saudi Arabia had to shut down a very important oil pipeline.
This pipeline is a big deal because it lets Saudi Arabia move oil without having to use the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow stretch of water that is very busy with shipping traffic. By using the pipeline, Saudi Arabia can bypass that area.
Now, reports say that 4% of the world's oil supply is at risk because of this shutdown.
Officials in Baghdad have confirmed that the attack on this pipeline came from Iraq. The situation is tense, and it is adding to the growing fears of conflict involving Iran and its allies in the region.
Analysts are worried because Saudi Arabia does not have many other good ways to move this much oil. As a result, the market is reacting quickly, and energy prices are climbing as people worry about a potential shortage.
