Things got tense near the Polish border today. A Russian military helicopter flew into Polish airspace, which is the area of the sky that belongs to Poland.
When a country’s airspace is entered without permission, it is a serious deal. Because of this, Poland quickly sent its fighter jets into the air. This is called "scrambling" the jets. It means the pilots had to take off as fast as they could to see what was happening and protect their territory.
At the same time, Russia was launching a big attack on Ukraine. NATO, which is a group of countries that work together to stay safe, also got involved. NATO jets in Poland and Romania were put on high alert to make sure the fighting in Ukraine didn't spill over into other countries.
