Prince Harry and Others Must Pay $13 Million Legal Bill

Prince Harry and six other famous people are in for a big surprise. A judge has told them they have to pay $13 million to the company that owns the Daily Mail newspaper.

This money is to cover the legal bills the newspaper company racked up while fighting a lawsuit. Prince Harry, Elton John, and the others had sued the newspaper company. They claimed the company broke their privacy, but the case failed.

The $13 million is just an starting amount. Some experts say the total bill could end up being much higher—perhaps up to $44 million (or £34.5 million).

Because the group of celebrities lost their case, the rules say they are responsible for paying the newspaper’s legal costs. It is a very expensive end to a high-profile court battle.
