Roads Reopen to Tibet Disaster Site as Search for Missing Workers Continues
China has cleared a path to the area hit by deadly floods, but hundreds of foreign workers remain missing.

A highway leading to a remote area in Tibet has been fixed. This area was hit hard by sudden, deadly flash floods recently. Because the road was broken, it was very difficult for rescue teams to get there. Now that it is open, help can reach the site more easily.
While the road is open, the situation remains very serious. Officials report that 261 foreigners from 23 different countries are still missing. Many of these people were workers building infrastructure projects near the border between China and Nepal.
Families back in China are worried and looking for answers. They want to know exactly what happened to their loved ones who were working on these construction projects when the disaster struck.
Rescue workers and government teams have been working around the clock to clear mud and debris. Clearing the road was the first big step in the cleanup effort. Officials say they are doing everything they can to find the missing people and bring them home safely.
