Russia launched a massive wave of air attacks across Ukraine today. The strikes hit several cities, causing heavy damage and killing at least 32 people.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke out against the violence. He called the attacks 'vile' and said that Russia is deliberately targeting civilians and homes. In one specific instance, an attack on an apartment building alone resulted in the deaths of at least 20 people.
Reports show that the toll of these attacks is very high. Many Ukrainian cities are currently dealing with the aftermath of the bombings, as rescue teams work through the debris to search for survivors.
Kyiv officials said they were expecting an escalation in violence, as Russia continues to focus its military power on urban centers. The situation remains dangerous for people living in the affected areas as the conflict intensifies.
