Sweden Buys Four New Warships from France

Sweden is getting a major upgrade for its navy. The country just signed a deal to buy four new warships from France. These ships are called frigates, which are fast, heavily armed boats used to guard the coast and track other ships.
French President Emmanuel Macron traveled to Sweden to sign the agreement in person. This move is all about defense. By working together, Sweden and France hope to make the region safer and strengthen their partnership within NATO, the group of countries that agree to protect each other.
These new ships might also come with powerful weapons. Reports say France is ready to provide special cruise missiles for the frigates. These missiles, known as MdCN, can hit targets from very far away.
This deal is a big step for Sweden as it continues to work closer with its European allies to keep its borders secure.
