Sweden’s Left-Wing Parties Win Election
The center-left has won the latest election in Sweden. The opposition leader is now working to put together a new government.

Sweden is moving back to the left. The country just held an election, and the center-left opposition parties have come out on top.
This result is a bit of a surprise because many other countries in Europe have been moving toward right-wing politics lately. In Sweden, things went the other way.
Major news outlets like The New York Times and CNN confirmed the win. Now that the election is over, the leader of the left-wing group has started the process of building a new government. This means they are talking to other parties to see who will work with them to run the country.
Even though the far-right groups were hoping for a big win, they did not get the result they wanted this time. While some analysts are debating whether social democracy—a system that focuses on strong public services and welfare—has lost its way for the future, the voters have made their choice for now.
Everything is calm, but the real work starts now as the new government begins to take shape.
