Sweden’s Leader Fails to Form New Government

Magdalena Andersson, the leader of Sweden's Social Democrat party, has officially given up on her attempt to form a new government.
Even though her party won a narrow victory in the recent election, she has been unable to get enough support from other groups in parliament to run the country.
The biggest problem was a disagreement with the Left Party. Andersson could not reach a deal that both sides were happy with. Because of this, she announced that there is currently no way for her to put together a government that would be able to pass laws and lead the nation.
This leaves Sweden in a state of political deadlock. This is a fancy way of saying that the government is stuck, and it is not clear who will be in charge or what will happen next.
Andersson explained that she tried her best, but the math just didn't work out. Without the support of the smaller parties, she does not have the power to make her plans a reality.
For now, the country waits to see if other leaders will try to form a government, or if the political standoff will continue.
