There is growing worry that a major war could return to Ethiopia. The country is currently facing a mix of military threats and communication blackouts.
Ethiopia’s top army chief recently made a serious claim. He accused Egypt and Sudan of helping an armed group that wants to remove Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed from power. This accusation adds more fuel to already burning tensions in the region.
At the same time, people in the Tigray region are losing contact with the outside world. Telecom networks in the area have been cut off. The Ethiopian military says this is happening while they report major losses for the rebel forces in the area.
