A U.S. Air Force plane had to turn around mid-flight while heading to Antarctica this week.
The plane, a C-17 Globemaster, was carrying people and supplies. It was forced to head back to its starting point after officials received a warning about activity in space.
Some reports linked the flight change to a Russian missile test. While officials are still looking into exactly what happened, the flight crew decided it was not safe to continue on their path toward the frozen continent.
Experts say these kinds of warnings happen when there is a risk of falling debris from space tests. Because a rocket or missile launch can send pieces flying, flight paths are often closed to keep planes safe from being hit.
It is not clear if the warning was a direct threat to the plane or just a precaution to keep the area clear. The plane eventually landed safely after the mission was called off.
For now, military officials are keeping a close eye on space activity to make sure their future flights can travel without any more surprises.
