The United States is getting ready to crack down on Iran again. Scott Bessent, the head of the U.S. Treasury, said that a "large bank" will be hit with new sanctions on Monday. Sanctions are basically government penalties meant to cut a business off from the global money system.

Officials haven't said which bank it is yet. This move is part of a bigger plan to put more pressure on the Iranian government.

This isn't the only move the U.S. is making. Recently, the U.S. has been going after groups that help Iran move money and goods. This includes new rules aimed at aviation companies. Reports show that some airlines linked to Iran have been trying to expand even though they are already under pressure.

The U.S. government is trying to block these money paths to make it harder for Iran to fund its activities. We expect to know more about which bank is being targeted once the official announcement comes out this Monday.
