Vatican confirms abuse by founder of religious group

The Vatican has finished its investigation into Carlos Miguel Buela. He is the man who started a religious group called the Institute of the Incarnate Word.
Church leaders have now confirmed that Buela committed abuse. Because of these findings, the group is being forced to make major changes. Vatican officials say they have "moral certainty" that Buela is guilty, even though he has denied it.
There has been a lot of talk about this case. Some people were waiting for a formal legal sentence, but the Vatican says the situation is different. Pope Francis recently mentioned that people were looking for a formal sentence that did not exist in the way they expected, calling it "clericalism"—which is when people in the church care more about rules and roles than the actual victims.
Now, the leaders of the Institute of the Incarnate Word must focus on a full renewal of their group. This means they have to fix the way things are run to make sure this kind of abuse does not happen again. The Vatican is keeping a close watch to make sure these changes really happen.
