Pope Francis recently shared a very clear message with other religious leaders: there is no such thing as a 'holy war.'

He said that using God's name to justify violence is wrong. The Pope believes that religion should be about bringing peace to the world, not causing pain or starting fights.

His comments came as part of a larger conversation about the 'Spirit of Assisi.' This is an event that started 40 years ago in Italy. The goal of this event is to bring people of all different faiths together to talk, pray, and work toward a more peaceful future.

The Pope also used the opportunity to talk about Mary, the mother of Jesus. He suggested that looking to her example could help people find a better path toward peace and understanding.

At a time when many places around the world are dealing with conflict, the Pope’s message is a reminder that faith should be a bridge between people, not a reason to pick up weapons.
