The U.S. war with Iran is costing a lot of money and causing real problems for our military. A new report from the Congressional Budget Office—which is a group of experts that counts government spending—shows just how much the war is hitting our wallets.
So far, the war has cost $38 billion. That is a massive amount of money. And it is not stopping. Experts say we are spending an extra $3 billion every single month to keep things going.
This is also making life harder for regular Americans. Because the war is so expensive, it is pushing up inflation. This means that everyday things like gas and groceries are getting more expensive for all of us.
It is not just about money, either. The Pentagon’s top watchdog released information showing that Iranian attacks have caused serious damage to our military. Hundreds of buildings used by the U.S. military have been damaged or destroyed. Dozens of our aircraft have also been hit and damaged in these attacks.
The situation is becoming a major challenge for the U.S. military, and the costs are showing no signs of slowing down.
