A Ukrainian air defense sergeant says his team has a major problem. It is not a lack of missiles. It is the gear they use to find the enemy.
His team needs better equipment to spot planes and drones that are flying toward them. Without this gear, it is very hard to know where the enemy is. If you cannot see the target, you cannot hit the target.
He says that missiles are important, but they are useless if you are shooting at the wrong spot. His unit relies on tech to track incoming threats. Right now, that technology is not good enough or there just is not enough of it.
This makes the job of defending the sky much harder than it needs to be. For the people on the ground, having eyes on the enemy is just as important as having the weapons to stop them.
