The United States is bringing Ukraine and Russia back to the table. Starting next week, officials from both countries will meet in Abu Dhabi for new peace talks.
Steven Witkoff, a special envoy for the U.S., confirmed that the goal is to talk about the "next steps" toward ending the fighting. This will be the first time the two sides have met for formal talks since February.
For a long time, there has been very little communication between Kyiv and Moscow. The U.S. government is stepping in to act as a bridge, hoping that these meetings can help lower the tension and eventually lead to a way out of the war.
While officials haven't shared every detail of what will be discussed, the news is being seen as a rare and important sign that both sides are at least willing to sit in the same room again.
The talks are set to take place in the United Arab Emirates. People around the world are watching closely to see if these discussions can lead to any real progress.
