Israel has destroyed a massive network of tunnels used by the militant group Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. The demolition was so large that it caused a 4.1-magnitude earthquake in the area.
Hezbollah had been using these underground tunnels as a base of operations. The Israeli military moved in to clear the area, resulting in the destruction of the underground structures.
Following the news, people in Iran are now arguing over who is to blame for the loss of these important Hezbollah positions. The loss of these tunnels is seen as a significant setback for the group.
Meanwhile, the situation on the ground remains tense. A Lebanese official told the Times of Israel that the military strikes by Israel are making it much harder to reach a deal to disarm Hezbollah. The official called the strikes “indiscriminate,” saying they are blocking progress toward peace.
