Iran is making a big push for diplomacy right now. They are talking to countries like Russia and the United Arab Emirates. This comes as Donald Trump has made threats regarding potential military action against the country.
At the same time, there is a new plan on the table. A senior official in Iran said they sent a proposal about their nuclear program to the U.S. They used Qatar to pass the message along.
There is even talk that the Strait of Hormuz—a very important waterway for oil shipments—could reopen. This might happen as part of a plan from Qatar that would allow for more inspections of Iran’s nuclear sites.
While these talks seem to show a little bit of progress, things are still very tense. Pete Hegseth, a commentator from Fox News, recently called the idea of a war between the U.S. and Iran a "courageous and historic effort." Meanwhile, reports suggest that even while these talks are happening, Donald Trump is still thinking about the possibility of new strikes against Iran.
In short, Iran is trying to use diplomacy to keep things calm, but the situation remains very shaky.
