A serious accident happened off the coast of Istanbul. An oil tanker hit a cargo ship, causing the smaller cargo ship to sink.

There were 10 people on board the cargo ship when it went down. The Turkish Navy launched a search operation and managed to find the sunken vessel.

Following the crash, local prosecutors took quick action. They ordered the arrest of the captain and the third officer of the oil tanker. They are being charged with "negligent homicide," which means authorities believe the crew was careless and that their actions led to loss of life.

An investigation is now underway to figure out exactly how the two ships collided. Authorities are looking into how the crew was operating the tanker at the time of the crash.
