Famous Palestinian writer moves his life's work to Scotland

Raja Shehadeh is a very famous writer from Palestine. For years, he kept a collection of personal diaries and important papers. These papers document his life and the history of the area where he lives in Ramallah.
Because of the ongoing conflict, Shehadeh was worried about his work. He feared that his archives could be lost or destroyed. To keep them safe, he decided to move the entire collection out of the country.
The papers have now arrived safely in Scotland. The University of Edinburgh has taken them in. The school will look after the documents so that people can study them in the future.
Moving these papers was a secret project. Everyone involved wanted to make sure the boxes arrived without any trouble. Now that the collection is in Scotland, Shehadeh says he feels relieved. His life's work is finally in a place where it will be protected for years to come.
