A person in Finland who loves digging for old items just made a huge discovery. While using a metal detector, they found the largest collection of Viking-age silver ever seen in the country.

The finder was actually just doing some work in a backyard, getting things ready to build a patio. While digging, they started hitting metal. They eventually pulled out five pounds of silver. This included thousands of coins and several pieces of old jewelry.

Experts say these items are about 1,000 years old. This was back when Vikings were active in the region. The collection is rare because of how much silver was hidden together. It shows that people in that area were likely part of a much bigger trading network than we realized at the time.

After the first discovery, the person kept looking and actually found a second spot nearby with even more buried treasure.
